Billy The Ratchet Strap Winder

While trying my hand at story writing, I stumbled across a daft little idea. Some writers like to use story prompts to spark their creative juices and spend 10 or 15 minutes just free-writing on that topic, to see what might be produced. I had been given the following the story prompt

"Your phone (or an appliance of some sort) magically comes to life somehow, goes on an adventure of some sort. Key point: it has a strong, distinct personality."

I decided to share the outcome on social media, with the following disclaimer (for reasons that will become apparent):

Upon receiving many comments loving the story and many requests about what happens next, I began writing more. This is what I have come up with so far (click on the title to read the story):
