Poem: If you have to ask questions

*The following poem is about mental health. If you need support from trained talking therapy practitioners, please see the links in the drop-down menu on the welcome page.

If you have to ask questions

It seems only right - to try and ask questions,
When you see that there’s more than what comes into view.
It only seems right - that you invite what is hidden,
To be out in the open, for the good it would do.

But take care, my sisters, be wise and be gentle,
If you have to ask questions that raise up her past
Her fortress of safety was made for a reason,
With smiles and with strength, she made herself last.

Please know that to question is to walk where she’s weakest,
Her strength and her power: built into that wall.
My sisters, I beg you, if you have to ask questions,

Be ready to catch her, cause she’s likely to fall.
